Billet processingThe silver billet undergoes heavy processing. After the lining, it is taken to a ball bath, which polishes the surface. The billet is then taken to an annealing furnace and afterwards, it is usually immersed in an acid bath. After the acid bath, the billet is matte and white. However, the Peace and Security coin billet was not processed in an acid bath. The conveyor belt takes the billets to an annealing furnace. A flame at the door of the furnace burns the gases coming from the furnace.
