Finland’s Historical Provinces Coin Set
Order the entire set of provincial coins now from here.

All our provinces in one collection. Mint of Finland offers all these much commended provincial coins as glassy proof coins packaged in a single case. The provincial coins paint a picture of a trustworthy, industrious nation living in a country of clear autumn days, winter mornings with a sharp bite of frost, tender summer evenings and summer nights of perpetual sunshine.

Each province in Finland has its own character, making it special. Hunting, fishing, handicraft traditions, agriculture and many other national traditions and sources of livelihood in Finland have been immortalised in the provincial coins that together tell a story of the colours of life in Finland.

The provincial coin set contains all nine coins released in 2010 and 2011 in glassy proof finish, packed in individual cases telling the respective stories of each coin.

Country of tribes

The Finns remember their tribe throughout life no matter where they go. Finland’s historical provinces have been both administrative entities and cultural tribal regions recognized by the people. The past life of the provinces is interlinked with the mediaeval manorial provinces.

Mint of Finland has produced the provincial coins to the order of the Finnish Ministry of Finance. The reverse side of the provincial coins depicts the coat of arms of the respective historical province and the indication of their value, €5. The obverse side of the coin depicts a theme closely related to the province’s culture. The coin series was designed by Nora Tapper.
