All of the euro coins of Finland for the year 2012, 2011, 2008, 2007 or 2006 are now offered here in their own packages. The coin sets 2012 and 2011 depict a story of Captain Terror O’Waters. The coin sets 2008 and 2007 adventure in jungle and the coin set of 2006 in zoo. The ”My first euros” coinage contains all the Finnish euro coins for 2012, 2011, 2008, 2007 or 2006. The coins of 2012 and 2011 are packed in an album, narrating the adventures of Captain Terror O’Waters and Crab Reedy-Legs and their friends. The “My first euros” album is a beautiful gift for a newborn, for a godchild, or for a child starting school. It is also a suitable gift to commemorate a year, when something significant happened. The children’s own coin set is like a primer: it teaches many things about money. For instance, one can start school by identifying the big coins. Then one can progress to numbers: one euro is a hundred small cent coins or ten ten-cent coins. A coin set of one’s own awakens the sleeping collector to an interest in the aesthetics of money. Shiny coins are beautiful. They have fine details which can be viewed through a magnifying glass, revealing something new. Why does each coin have two “L” letters? What is the European Union? Coins raise many questions that are waiting for an answer. The album contains a lucky coin, which collectors call a mint medal or a commemorative medal. The medal has space for engraving an important name and date. Graphic designer Georgi Eremenko produced the drawings for the coin sets 2012 and 2011 and the mint medal was designed by artist Hannu Veijalainen. 3 000 examples of the children’s coin set will be issued.
