Besides circulation coins, The Mint of Finland also produces collector coins, coin sets, medals, jewellery and decorations for Finnish and international clients. Sustained investment in production technology has made The Mint of Finland a pioneer in developing euro production technology as well as in international quality assurance in the industry. The Mint of Finland has in place a quality management system certified to ISO 9001:2008 in respect of its circulation coin production. The key drivers of quality and efficiency are integrated production, diverse expertise and process management, with careful analysis conducted on each element of the process. Quality management in the production of euros is furthermore audited by the European Central Bank and by clients on a project by project basis. Security expertise at The Mint of Finland starts with the production environment. Each stage in the production of coins, from design to packaging, is executed with care and precision to ensure security and flawless performance. All coins produced are subjected to multiple analyses to verify dimensions, weight, conductivity and magnetic torque distinguishing one denomination from another. The company’s modern high-security warehousing and logistics functions further contribute to the absolute reliability of customer deliveries. Tight security measures apply to all production. Regular risk surveys and ongoing efforts to minimize potential threats are the tools of choice employed to further enhance security. The Mint of Finland has in place an environmental management system certified to ISO 14001:2004 and covering operations at the Vantaa plant, i.e. the Circulation Coin and Collectibles business units. Mint of Finland acknowledges its responsibility for the environment and strives to reduce the adverse environmental impacts of its operations.
