The Children and creativity collector coin for child creativity
The Children and creativity collector coin is the first official Finnish collector coin to be selected by public vote. Visitors to the Mint of Finland website can vote for their favourite among 11 potential coin designs until June 18. The artworks that voters will be selecting were done by students at high schools of the visual arts. Vote for your favourite design from here. Read more

Mint of Finland's new Board of Directors
Vice President Riitta Mynttinen (Minerals Technologies Europe NV and SMI, Europe) has been elected to replace Director Hille Korhonen (Fiskars) in Mint of Finland's Board of Directors. Hille Korhonen left the company's Board of Directors at her own request. Riitta Mynttinen has a high-level international business know-how acquired in the coating, chemical and paper industries in Europe, the United States and Asia. Read more

2009 was a year of change for Mint of Finland. The change was the company's decision to look for growth and a new and a more dynamic direction and way to act. The coin in 2020 - energy recovering and wearable?
The future of cash under discussion at the Mint of Finland’s jubilee seminar
April this year marks the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Mint of Finland. During this special year the company directs its attention to the future with a jubilee seminar envisioning the future of cash. Minister of Finance Jyrki Katainen and Bank of Finland Governor Erkki Liikanen will both address the seminar. The coin will take on a new format at the seminar as students of the Aalto University present their visions of the future of money. In his address international guest speaker Holger Ziegler will consider what possibilities cash will have in the future. Read more

Mint of Finland issues a Finnish Currency 150 Years commemorative coin made of domestic gold
Today the Mint of Finland issues a golden Finnish Currency 150 Years commemorative coin. The coin will be handed over to Minister of Finance Jyrki Katainen and Bank of Finland Governor Erkki Liikanen at the Mint of Finland’s jubilee seminar. This coin is the first commemorative euro coin that is made of Finnish gold. The issuing of the commemorative coin is a part of the Mint of Finland's jubilee year, during which the company celebrates the 150-year-old Finnish currency and its own 150-year-old path. Read more

The ‘Minna Canth and Equality’ collector coin struck by The Mint of Finland is released into circulation today, Minna Canth’s Day, the Day of Equality. The President of the Republic, Tarja Halonen, will be presented with a Minna Canth coin by Tanja Auvinen, the Secretary-General of NYTKIS - the Coalition of Finnish Women’s Associations - and by Maarit Aarni-Sirviö, Managing Director of The Mint of Finland. The Collector Coin committee set by the Finnish Ministry of Finance arranged a competition for the designing of a silver collector coin, to which students of visual arts oriented upper secondary schools were invited.
