A gold collector coin launched in honour of the Diet of Porvoo. The collector coin will be presented to the country’s top leaders.
Today Mint of Finland Ltd. is issuing a gold collector coin honouring the 200th anniversary of the Diet of Porvoo.
The coin's issue will be commemorated during a presentation of the first three numbered collector coins to the country’s top leaders at the Diet of Porvoo’s 200th anniversary. The event will be held in Porvoo on March 28, 2009. The collector coins will be presented to President Tarja Halonen, Speaker of Parliament Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen. ”Finnish collector coins are mementos and works of art, documenting some of the most important milestones in the nation’s history, for future generations to admire. Mint of Finland has the pleasure and honour to participate in this important task,” says Maarit Aarni-Sirviö, Mint of Finland’s CEO.
