About a Coin exposition will be opened at the Finnish Science Centre Heureka on 20th October as part of Heureka’s main exhibition. The exhibition will remain open for three to five years. Immortalise your Face on a Coin Coins have traditionally depicted remarkable historical figures. At the Heureka exhibition, all visitors can mint a coin of their own and immortalise their portrait. In addition, the exhibition will allow them to closely examine the coins in their pocket and verify their authenticity. At the exhibition, visitors can watch how circulation coins are manufactured. It is also possible to discover the numismatic art of the euro zone countries, since euro coins from all of the countries are presented at the exhibition. An Exhibition Replaces a Chronicle About a Coin exhibition is the main event of Mint of Finland’s jubilee year. “We wanted to celebrate our anniversary year with an exhibition instead of a chronicle on our 150-year voyage. Everyone is welcome to see the exhibition and to discover what Mint of Finland does,” says Mint of Finland CEO Paul Gustafsson. On 20th October, the opening day of the exhibition, a subsite with information on the Heureka exhibition and the production of money will be launched on Mint of Finland’s website. The subsite will also include educational material which teachers may use when visiting Heureka with their pupils. Further information:
