This collector coin pays tribute to C.G.E. Mannerheim (1867–1951), who served as the sixth President of the Republic of Finland in 1944–1946.
Radiating prestige, this collector coin is part of the new Presidents of Finland series, which Mint of Finland will release by decree of the Ministry of Finance in 2016–2017. The collector coins of the Presidents of Finland series will feature in the Finland 100 programme celebrating the centennial of Finland's independence.
A total of eight collector coins paying tribute to the presidents of Finland will be released in the series, with the coins of K.J. Ståhlberg, L.K. Relander, P.E. Svinhufvud and Kyösti Kallio to be launched in 2016. The coins of Risto Ryti, C.G.E. Mannerheim, J.K. Paasikivi and U.K. Kekkonen will be released in 2017.
A collector coin is at its most beautiful in proof quality. Proof-quality collector coins are minted with a polished die, finished, and placed in a protective clear plastic casing set in a cardboard package. The coin will best withstand the test of time and remain as a memento in your collection in its original package.
The obverse of the coin bears the portrait of Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim. All coins in the series will share the same reverse.
The reverse features a landscape of Finnish fields framing an open book depicting a constructed urban environment. The motif symbolises the president's mandate from the people. The collector coins are designed by Tero Lounas.
Postage is EUR 7 for domestic orders and EUR 20 to other EU Member States, regardless of how many products are ordered. Collector coins have the 14-day right of exchange and return provided for in the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.
